PMA Nonprofit Leadership is proud to celebrate Managing Director Emily Battle on her appointment as Executive Director of Charlotte-based Jane’s Fund (shinelikejane.org), where she'll begin on August 25, 2025.

Emily has been a wonderful leader and colleague at PMA,” said Patton McDowell, PMA’s Founder. “She has strengthened our team, guided many clients through complex challenges, and exemplified the kind of thoughtful, strategic leadership our sector needs. We’re deeply grateful for her contributions and excited to see her next chapter.”

A graduate of both the Mastermind Leadership Program and the Interim Management Institute (IMI)Emily brought the same thoughtful rigor, optimism, and get-it-done spirit to our client work that she’ll now bring to Jane’s Fund. Emily blends over 10 years of previous nonprofit leadership with nearly a decade in corporate strategy consulting. Her nonprofit journey as Executive Director for Let Me Run equipped her with comprehensive knowledge across organizational dimensions, including fundraising, partnerships, programming, board management, legal compliance, and more. She has developed multi-million-dollar fundraising programs, staffing plans, and effective marketing strategies for organizations like New York Road Runners and Let Me Run

"I am so grateful for my time at PMA & have loved the opportunity to partner with so many incredible organizations across the region, helping them chart their future," said Emily Battle. "I am excited to join Jane’s Fund and support its mission to make a direct meaningful impact on local families, spreading light and uplifting those in need."

The impact Emily had will continue in multiple ways - strengthened strategic planning efforts, motivated emerging and mid-career leaders, and advanced fundraising excellence across the sector.

“She has a rare blend of strategic vision and practical execution,” said PMA's James Waddey. “She makes everyone better, and we’re thrilled to see the impact she’ll have at Jane’s Fund.”

Please join us in congratulating Emily and in supporting her important work with Jane’s Fund.
